Mark Topping announces resignation

Councillor Mark Topping, Leader of the Forest of Dean District Council, announced his resignation today, saying he has decided to step down because of family and work commitments. The Greens hope Cllr Adrian Birch will be elected as leader at the full council meeting next week on Thursday 18th April.

"We’ve achieved a lot over the last year, but of course there’s so much more to do," says Mark. "I’m sorry I need to step down as leader, but I look forward to supporting Adrian and the Green administration of the district council in the coming years".
